Believe in Yourself and Achieve Greatness
Good morning, everyone!
Today, I want to talk to you about believing in yourself and achieving greatness. As middle school students, you are at a stage of life where you are discovering your strengths and talents, and it is important to have faith in yourself in order to reach your full potential.
Believing in yourself means having confidence in your abilities and trusting your instincts. It means not being afraid to take risks and step out of your comfort zone. It means understanding that failure is not a setback, but an opportunity to learn and grow. When you believe in yourself, you are more likely to set higher goals, work harder, and persevere through challenges.
One of the greatest examples of someone who believed in himself and achieved greatness is Thomas Edison, the inventor of the light bulb. Edison failed over a thousand times before successfully creating the light bulb. But he never lost faith in himself. He once said, "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." His belief in himself and his determination led to one of the most important inventions in history.
Believing in yourself also means surrounding yourself with positive influences. Choose friends who support and encourage you, and avoid those who bring you down or discourage your dreams. Surround yourself with role models who inspire you and show you what is possible. Seek out mentors who can guide you and offer advice when you face challenges.
Lastly, believing in yourself means having a positive mindset. Replace negative thoughts with positive ones. Instead of saying, "I can't do it," say, "I can do it if I work hard enough." Instead of dwelling on past failures, focus on the lessons learned and how they can shape your future success. Remember, success is not measured by how many times you fall, but by how many times you get back up.
In conclusion, believing in yourself is the key to achieving greatness. Have confidence in your abilities, take risks, learn from failure, surround yourself with positive influences, and maintain a positive mindset. Remember the words of Henry Ford, who said, "Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you're right." Believe in yourself and there is no limit to what you can achieve.
Thank you for listening.

Don’t be frightened! When a Bennington student, 10 minutes before you come up to the podium hands you a mace, that he made,
If you don’t bring it to the podium with you, you will never be Bennington.
So I would like to thank you Ben for helping me put the fear of God in the audience tonight. But I have to put it down because I’m an actor, and I am really weak. That was heavy! It wasn’t like a prop. That shit was real!
Thanks Ben.
So now I’m going to read. And I’m not off book. So I might be looking down a lot.
Thank you, President Coleman, Brian Conover, faculty, students, family, alumni, some of whom are dear friends of mine who have travelled all the way from the big city to see me hopefully not humiliate myself tonight.
And especially thanks to you, the Graduating Class of 20xx.
See, as a joke I wrote, hold for applause, and I was actually going to read that. So you kind of killed my joke!
Sometimes it takes things falling apart, for better things to fall into place.
Sometimes it takes the most uncomfortable path, to lead your life to the most beautiful place.
There's gonna be bad days, there's gonna be dark days, but you've gotta embrace it.
Because that pain is what makes you stronger. Failure is what makes you stronger.
You have to accept those down times, because once you realize those down times, are just as much part of life as anything else, you're able to strive again.
You'll never see the purpose of the storm, until you see the growth it produced.
You'll never understand why you went through what you went through, until you see the strength, the power, the resilience that it built inside of you.
Ask yourself why.

All 200 hands were still up. He said, “Today, you’ve leraned an important lesson. No matter how much i crumpled that note, how much i scrunched it up, how many times it was trodden on, you still wanted it, because it was still worth 20-pounds.”
In the same way that that 20-pound note held its value,so do you.”
No matter how many times life will tread on you, life will crumple you, life will scrunch you, and life squeeze you, you will always keep your value, that spark within us all of bliss, knowledge, and eternity that exists, that spark will never be taken away.
Our value is not created by the price of our clothes or our bank balance or the job title that we have. See, we should be building life and not just building our CVs. The challenge we have is that we only talk about people’s failures when they succeed.
