在“花港观鱼”你可以领略。“花著鱼身鱼嘬花”的诗情画意。
“平湖秋月”和“断桥残雪”都在白堤上，唐代诗人白居易在杭州任过刺史，对西湖进行过治理，后人为纪念他，称为白堤。白居易有诗云“最爱湖东行不足，绿杨阴里白沙堤”，写的就是此堤。“平湖秋月”三面临水，楼前水面筑平台，每当中秋月夜，湖平如镜，清辉万顷，可坐平台赏月品茶，兴趣无穷。“断桥残雪”在白堤东端，民间故事《白蛇传》中白娘子和许仙就在此断桥相会。
