英文短篇幽默故事 篇一:The Mischievous Parrot

Once upon a time, in a small town, there lived a mischievous parrot named Charlie. Charlie was known for his witty remarks and pranks. He was the talk of the town, and people would come from far and wide just to hear him speak.

One day, a kind-hearted old lady named Mrs. Jenkins decided to buy Charlie and take him home as a pet. She was warned about his mischievous nature, but she couldn't resist the charm of the talking parrot.

As soon as Charlie arrived at Mrs. Jenkins' house, he started wreaking havoc. He would imitate the doorbell, causing Mrs. Jenkins to open the door to find no one there. He would mimic the sound of a phone ringing, only to find there was no call. Charlie even imitated Mrs. Jenkins' voice once and tricked her into thinking she had lost her mind!

Despite all the trouble he caused, Mrs. Jenkins couldn't help but laugh at Charlie's antics. She realized that beneath his mischievous behavior, he was just trying to make her smile.

One day, Mrs. Jenkins had some guests over for tea. Charlie was perched on his stand, listening intently to their conversation. Suddenly, he interrupted with a loud squawk, "Can I have some tea too?"

Everyone burst into laughter, including Mrs. Jenkins. She poured a small cup of tea and placed it near Charlie's stand. The parrot dipped his beak into the cup and made a show of sipping the tea. This made everyone laugh even harder.

From that day on, Charlie became the life of every gathering at Mrs. Jenkins' house. He would tell jokes, imitate people's voices, and even dance to entertain the guests. Mrs. Jenkins realized that Charlie's mischievous nature was a blessing in disguise.

Years passed, and Charlie grew old. He could no longer fly or speak as clearly as before. Mrs. Jenkins took extra care of him, making sure he had everything he needed. She would sit by his cage, reminiscing about all the laughter he had brought into her life.

One day, Charlie let out a weak squawk and closed his eyes. Mrs. Jenkins knew it was time to say goodbye to her beloved companion. She held him gently in her hands and whispered, "Thank you for all the joy you brought into my life, Charlie. You will always be in my heart."

And with that, Charlie took his last breath, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and happiness.

英文短篇幽默故事 篇二:The Forgetful Baker

Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a baker named Mr. Thompson. He was known for his delicious pastries and bread. However, there was one small problem - he was incredibly forgetful.

Every morning, Mr. Thompson would wake up early to start baking. He would mix the dough, put it in the oven, and set the timer. But somehow, he always managed to forget about it and ended up with burnt bread.

One day, the village mayor decided to visit Mr. Thompson's bakery. He had heard about the delicious treats and wanted to try them for himself. As the mayor entered the bakery, he was greeted by the smell of burnt bread.

Mr. Thompson, unaware of the mayor's presence, was busy preparing a new batch of dough. The mayor approached him and said, "Mr. Thompson, I have heard great things about your bakery. May I try some of your famous pastries?"

Mr. Thompson, startled by the mayor's sudden appearance, replied, "Oh, yes! Please have a seat, and I'll bring you the best pastries you've ever tasted."

As Mr. Thompson rushed to the kitchen to retrieve the pastries, he accidentally knocked over a bag of flour, covering himself from head to toe. Unaware of his flour-covered appearance, he returned to the mayor with a tray of burnt bread.

The mayor couldn't help but laugh at the sight of Mr. Thompson covered in flour. Mr. Thompson, confused, looked down at himself and realized what had happened. He joined in the laughter, saying, "Oh dear, I seem to have become a human snowman!"

The mayor, still chuckling, said, "Mr. Thompson, I believe you have forgotten about your bread in the oven once again."

Mr. Thompson's eyes widened in realization. He quickly rushed to the oven and pulled out a tray of perfectly baked bread. The mayor took a bite and exclaimed, "This is absolutely delicious!"

From that day on, the mayor became a regular customer at Mr. Thompson's bakery. Whenever the baker forgot about his bread in the oven, the mayor would remind him with a playful smile.

And so, Mr. Thompson's forgetfulness became a source of laughter and joy in the village. His customers would eagerly wait for his next mishap, knowing that delicious treats would soon follow.

Despite his forgetfulness, Mr. Thompson continued to bake his famous pastries, bringing happiness to the village with each bite. And as for the burnt bread? It became a reminder that sometimes, the best things in life come from unexpected moments of forgetfulness.
