The Tradition of Qingming Festival

Qingming Festival, also known as Tomb-Sweeping Day, is a traditional Chinese festival that takes place on April 4th or 5th every year. It is a time for people to pay respects to their ancestors and to remember and honor those who have passed away.

During Qingming Festival, families visit the tombs of their ancestors to clean them and offer sacrifices. They bring flowers, food, and other offerings to show their love and respect. Some families also burn incense and paper money as a way to provide for the deceased in the afterlife. It is believed that by doing these rituals, the spirits of their ancestors will be blessed and protected.

Apart from tomb-sweeping, there are also other activities that people enjoy during Qingming Festival. One popular activity is flying kites. Many people, especially children, take advantage of the good weather during this time of year to fly colorful kites in parks or open fields. It is not only a fun activity but also a way to bring good luck and drive away evil spirits.

Another activity that is closely associated with Qingming Festival is the consumption of qingtuan, a special type of green rice ball. These rice balls are made from glutinous rice and filled with sweet bean paste. They are then wrapped in leaves and steamed. Qingtuan is not only delicious but also symbolic. The green color represents the coming of spring and new life.

Qingming Festival is a time for reflection and remembrance. It is a time for families to come together and honor their ancestors. It is also a time for people to enjoy the beauty of nature and appreciate the changing seasons. Despite the modernization of society, the traditions and customs of Qingming Festival continue to be cherished and passed on from generation to generation.

Memories of Qingming Festival

Qingming Festival is a special time of year for me and my family. It is a time when we gather together to honor and remember our ancestors. I have many fond memories of this traditional Chinese festival.

One of my favorite memories is going with my parents and grandparents to visit the tomb of my great-grandfather. We would bring flowers, candles, and food to place on the tombstone. My grandparents would tell me stories about my great-grandfather and how he used to celebrate Qingming Festival when he was alive. It made me feel connected to my family history and proud of our traditions.

Another memory that stands out is flying kites with my cousins. Every year, we would gather in the park and spend the whole day flying kites. It was so much fun to see the colorful kites soaring in the sky. We would compete to see whose kite could fly the highest or do the most tricks. It was a friendly competition that brought us closer together as a family.

One of the most special memories I have of Qingming Festival is eating qingtuan with my grandmother. She would wake up early in the morning to make the rice balls from scratch. I loved helping her wrap the rice balls in leaves and steam them. The smell of the freshly steamed qingtuan was irresistible. We would sit together and enjoy the delicious treat, savoring each bite and sharing stories.

Qingming Festival is not just about rituals and traditions, but also about spending quality time with family. It is a time to reflect on our roots and appreciate the blessings we have received. These memories of Qingming Festival will forever hold a special place in my heart and remind me of the importance of family and heritage.

Last Qingming Festival,i return home to worship my grandfather.Qingming Festival is a folk Festival. In the past,In the past, the Qingming Festival was called "Arbor Day". But Today, Chinese visit their family graves to tend to any underbrush that has grown. Weeds are pulled, and dirt swept away, and the family will set out offerings of food and spirit money. Unlike the sacrifices at a family's home altar, the offerings at the tomb usually consist of dry, bland food. One theory is that since any number of ghosts rome around a grave area, the less appealing food will be consumed by the ancestors, and not be plundered by strangers.

With the passing of time, this celebration of life became a day to the honor past ancestors. Following folk religion, the Chinese believed that the spirits of deceased ancestors looked after the family. Sacrifices of food and spirit money could keep them happy, and the family would prosper through good harvests and more children.

The long hiking meeting has finally arrived. I'm really looking forward to it. Mama made a detailed plan. I plan to participate in activities on May 16th (Sunday), the fifteen day is Saturday, and there are classes in the morning. The bad weather, the weather forecast said Sunday the weather is cloudy. Ming Ma is hesitant. On Saturday, when Ming Ming English class ended, mingma decisively decided to go to the afternoon hike. (alas, who calls Mama no practical experience!) Mother and son came home for two, hurried to finish their lunch, ate, drank, packed a whole backpack and set off. Mingma and Mingming finally arrived at the assembly site at one o'clock noon, Xinghai Square.

When we arrived at the square, all the students who had walked twenty kilometers returned. If you walk, don't feel what a little Ming mother beat a retreat. But obviously, he was very excited. He was asking everywhere for pedestrians to ask the venue of the organizing committee. Mingma didn't have the heart to pour cold water on Mingming, followed by Ming Ming. At the office site of the Organizing Committee of the conference, the staff may have looked at the obvious part and asked nothing directly, but the chapter was directly covered on the certificate. There is no special feeling for Ming Ma and Ming Ming to get nothing for nothing.

When a man comes, he doesn't succeed on foot. He must do something so that he can't be disappointed. Obviously, there are many kites flying around the sky, and there are kites everywhere. Mingma agreed. He chose an eagle kite. Ming Ma was the first time to fly a kite. Fortunately, the weather is suitable for the cloud, the wind. Ming Ma can put kites up for the first time, and she has a sense of accomplishment. Mingma and Mingming have a clear pision of labor. They are clearly responsible for laying the line, and mingma is responsible for flying kites. Obviously, she was amazed by the beautiful kite flying skills of mingma. But Ming Ma knew that she was far away from it.

Later, the string of the kite was intertwined, and how it could not be opened. Later, a good passerby sent a clear line and long line. Eagle kite flies high and high, soaring in the sky, higher than other kites. It's a happy one. Obviously, if the line is longer, the eagle will be pided into the universe.

Mingma asked a clear question: "if the kite line is broken, what will happen to the kite?"

Ming Ming: "of course it is on the ground."
