如何实现英语专业毕业生的充分就业目前已成为高校所面临的一个重要问题。为了提升高校英语专业学生的综合素质，改变当前高校英语专业毕业生就业的被动局面，高校必须根据英语专业的特点，紧跟时代发展的步伐，积极推动英语专业教学改革，重点培养学生理论联系实际的能力，从而也提升学生的就业能力。

英语是一种交流工具，所以英语专业毕业学生在运用英语与人交流时就不仅要具备相应的专业理论知识，并且还要有较宽的知识面。比如商务英语专业就要求毕业生要具备该专业的理论知识和较强的语言运用能力，要熟悉商务法律法规，具备计算机及现代化办公设备的操作能力，同时了解对外贸易、涉外商务、会计、金融、投资、保险及旅游等行业的政策、法规和行业惯例。这也就是说，该专业的毕业生要有理论与实践相结合的能力，要将自己打造成为能适应市场需要的复合型人才。
二、影响高校英语专业毕业生就业因素的分析
1.高校盲目扩招造成英语专业人才需求饱和
几年以前，在高校扩招的浪潮中，扩招最多的专业是英语这类“热门专业”。相关调查显示，在20世纪90年代末，我国具有英语学士学位授予权的院校是200多所，20xx年变成了598所，到20xx年已增加到959所。与此同时，英语专业的专业设置也从综合类、师范类扩展到财经类、理工类、农林类和文体类等，这导致了英语专业人才培养的饱和。
2.英语专业的专业建设与市场需求相脱节

大学毕业生的就业能力是指大学生在毕业时所具有的能获得就业、维持就业以及在需要时能重新获得就业的能力，它是大学毕业生拥有的对雇主有吸引力的知识、能力和态度的组合。随着就业竞争的加剧，探索英语专业教学如何与社会需求相适应也就引起了人们的普遍关注，就成了高校英语专业教育中必须面对的一个重大课题。因此，高校应十分重视这个问题，应对自己的教育教学进行改革。实现这种改革，目前重要的是，应利用英语教育与社会、经济、科技及教育发展的需要有紧密联系的状况，以牵引英语专业人才培养朝着有就业竞争能力的方向发展，从而培养出具备较高的科学和文化素质与实践能力的英语人才。
