咬文嚼字,《汉语大词汇》中列有三个义项:一是形容过分推敲词句;二是形容掉书袋或卖弄学问;三是谓不重视实质,只在某些字句上纠缠,或强词夺理。由此,我们可以看出,“咬文嚼字”是一个含有贬义的成语。
一、认识上存在的误区
(一)瞬间即逝,听众听不出来
2.语句方面。一个句子,在语法上有主、谓、宾之分。可在一些电视新闻稿件中,经常能看到一些句子残缺或者词语搭配不当的情况。譬如,“老师要注重聆听来自学生的意见”,“聆听”是一个谦词,我们可以说:“我愿聆听您老人家的教诲”,而不能说“大家要注意聆听我的报告”。又如,“该校近期开展了‘小手拉大手,共建文明城’的热潮”。此句中,不光词语搭配不当,而且存在明显的语法错误。“开展”一般接“活动”,而“高潮”前面的动词应该是“掀起”。这样的句子,如果观众不是仔细听,确实很难听出来的。
3.词义方面。有一些词语,记者在使用中由于理解有误,将含义弄反了。譬如,“晚风徐徐,城市的阑珊灯火尽收眼底。”描写的是某城市入夜的繁盛灯火。这里,记者将“阑珊”的意思用反了。“阑珊”,辞书上列出五种含义,即衰减、消沉;暗淡、零落;残、将尽;零乱、歪斜;困窘、艰难。这五种含义当中,没有一个与“繁盛”相关的,倒是恰恰相反。再譬如,“这些女同志当初在豆蔻年华就干起了列车押运。”此例属于误用典故。记者只了解豆蔻年华指女子年轻时候,但忽略了这个词所指的年龄段是幼年,不是青年,因而致误。
(二)一晃而过,观众看不出来
基于这样的认识,在电视新闻报道中,错别字连篇的情况也就没有必要大惊小怪了。如某县级电视台新闻节目播出的《走在东风大桥不再慌兮兮》,报道一座农村大桥整修一新的事,消息内容中将被整修桥梁的一个部分称为“护栏”,而字幕有时打“护栏”,有时又打“扶栏”,同一个桥梁,怎么既有“护栏”又有“扶栏”?其实,桥梁只有“护栏”而没有“扶栏”。再如,《自掏腰包请大戏》,“某某越剧团带着精彩的剧本和各式道具如约而至某某花园”,这行字幕中,剧团带的应该是“精彩剧目”而不是剧本。因为,剧团是来表演的,而并不是带着脚本来参加排练的。
电视新闻中的错别字不胜枚举,有些错字、别字虽然在荧屏上一晃而过,不易被人察觉,但作为电视从业人员,千万不能存在侥幸。因为,电视机前有千千万万双眼睛在紧盯着你。
二、“咬文嚼字”的品质所在
就传播介质来看,印刷纸媒的静态展示和电视音画合一的动态呈现是两种媒介在生动性、形象性上的最大区别;就信息传达方式来看,受众在信息接收时,报纸读者享有更多的主动权,可以相对自由地选择获得信息的时间和地点。而电视观众则必须“定点定时”,静心观看。因此,笔者认为,电视新闻的从业人员必须从掌握电视新闻的特点入手,正确处理好传播者和接收者之间的关系,真正体现电视新闻稿的“为听而写、为看而写”的写作特色,做到“咬文嚼字”,准确、规范、生动,切莫使用那些存在歧义,观众要“想一想才能理解”的词语。
(一)会意与求解
记得笔者还在搞广播的时候,省广校的老师在给我们讲课时曾经说过“有声写稿,无声播音”这么一句话。此话用在电视新闻稿的写作和播音中,也是意义深重。笔者的理解是,前者要求记者在写稿时多读自己写的稿件,能让听(观)众听懂,听明白。后者就是要求播音员正确传达稿子所表达的含义,以听(观)众能够会意的方式去播报新闻。笔者曾在某县电视台新闻部看到过这样一篇新闻稿,标题是《白花花死鱼浮满鱼塘》,报道某镇村民承包鱼塘死鱼的事件。在一个关键之处,表述不够慎重,留下会被招惹是非的隐患。看文中这句话:“但是没想到最近的一场大雨,让175亩鱼塘里的鱼几乎死了90%。”照此句理解,是“一场大雨”才“让鱼塘里的鱼几乎死了90%。”亦即死鱼的原因是“最近的一场大雨”。这无疑给这起“死鱼事件”定了性:纯属天灾。而事实上,鱼的死因却如报道最后一句所说的:“尚在进一步调查中”。显然,死鱼原因的结论应该是有关权威部门调查检测之后才能得出,而媒体即使是无意间的一个粗略表述,也会给事件的定性和处理带来负面干预,以至被牵连到是非争端中去。其实,那句“最近一场大雨,让……鱼几乎死了……”少了一个关键性的字,又多了一个不该多的字。在“一场大雨”后应加一个“后”字,再去掉“让175亩……”中的“让”字,就可以避免上述问题了。因为这样表述,“这场大雨”只是一个死鱼的时间界定,而不是“让”鱼死的原因了。
(二)缘情度理
文字和思想感情有密切关系,语言跟着思想感情走,更换了文字同时更换了思想感情,只有刻苦自励,推陈翻新,时时求思想感情和语言的精炼与吻合,才会逐渐达到艺术的完美。通过“咬文嚼字”,我们可以提出自己的质疑,但是要真正解决疑惑,还必须做到“缘情度理”。
(三)准确精辟
我们常说,措词的精当实质上是思想的严密和严谨。其实,对于电视新闻稿件来说,“推敲”亦十分重要。它既是对荧屏的负责,又是对观众的尊重。如果我们不注重稿件的“咬文嚼字”,错别字、语法错误这类毛病就会连篇累牍出现在稿件之中。
某县电视台有一条新闻叫《拉风的狗狗》,画面是有人在公园遛狗、有人给狗拍照的场景,首先,将此“新闻”作为“正面报道”来宣扬,似有不妥。政府部门及公园管理方早有规定,禁止在公园内遛狗。再是,解说词中“是不是有明显范儿呢?”实在看不懂句中“明显范儿”是什么玩意儿。按照一般理解,“范儿”尚可理解为“派头”,但“明显派头”又该如何解读?
再如,“我县某某村首当其冲,在全县农村建起第一幢高层住宅楼。” “首当其冲”是说处于冲要位置,比喻最先受到攻击或首先遭遇灾难、损害。这是由于误解而误用了成语。由此,我们可以看出,新闻语言,“小处”不能随便,字斟句酌,也并不是多余的。因为,准确无误,是新闻稿件写作最基本,也是最起码的要求。而认为电视新闻稿的措词和句子,没有必要像平面媒体那样要求表达的规范、准确和完整,毋须“咬文嚼字”,是为自己的工作不严谨而找的一个借口。
